Fairfield: New South Wales police have warned of more arrests as they investigate an elaborate childcare fraud syndicate.

22 Sydney mothers have been charged over their alleged role in the operation which stole millions of dollars of taxpayer money. It's alleged they used their children's identities in a fake daycare network claiming government subsidies.

It's believed more than 100 children were registered, netting more than $4M. The women will face court next month.
