Eagle River's Chanticleer Inn doesn't mind hosting a big crowd. For 13 years the Inn has served as the main hub for the USA Pond Hockey Tournament.But this year, one Inn employee will be experiencing the tournament, and all the work that comes with it, for the first time.

Most people want to see the Eagle River Sports Dome up and running for another hundred years. But unless a lot of funding comes in fast, that might not happen. The Eagle River City Council pushed forward an idea that would help. But while everyone could agree they want to save the dome, many of the people who attended the meeting don't agree with how the city wants to help.

Tim and Tammy Bogeman are building a farm from scratch. That farm, Chick-A-Dee Acres, in Eagle River will provide programs and care for adults with physical or cognitive disabilities.

A unique Northwoods landmark needs everyone's help. The Eagle River Sports Arena's nearly hundred year-old wooden dome is the last of its kind in the country. It also houses the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame. But if enough money isn't raised by the end of this year, it might not be possible for the dome to carry out its decades-old tradition as a hockey rink.

The pond hockey tournament in Eagle River brings around 300 teams to the Northwoods each year. But the weekend-long event doesn't just build the bond between teammates, it brings families together too.

Some seniors laced up and hit the court at a high school gym for a highly competitive match-up on Tuesday, but they weren't 12th graders.
